Reports coming out gtom the UK state that the General Medical Council has licensed 91 Nigerian-Trained doctors.
The Punch observed that between October 10th and October 25th, 2022.
There are currently 10,387 Nigerian trained medical doctors residing in the UK.
Of that number, 1,837 are General Practitioners (GP), 5,210 are associate specialists, 1,273 are specialists while 2,318 are doctors in training
The total number of Nigerian-trained doctors in the UK now stands at 10,387.
The Nigerian Medical Association has expressed concern over the brain drain and the impact on the health sector of the country.
Migration to the UK is also evident across the spectrum of health professionals including doctors, nurses, midwives and care assistants.
