West African Research Association (WARA) Travel Grants 2021 are offered to the students of Africa who are interested to pursue research studies which are to be taken at any African country of candidates choice, the grants or the fellowships are funded by Bureau of Educational and Cultural Affairs of the US Department of State through a grant from the Council of American Overseas Research Centers,WARC Travel Grant program is developed with an intention to promote intra-African cooperation and exchange among researchers and institutions by providing support to African scholars and graduate students for research visits to other institutions in Africa.

West African Research Association (WARA) Travel Grants or fellowships are offered to pursue research studies in the related fields.
Fields of study
The candidates can pursue research studies in all relevant fields that are offered by the organisation where the travel grants are used to attend and present papers at academic conferences relevant to the applicant’s field of research, maintain the resources necessary to the applicant’s current academic work, engage in collaborative work with colleagues at another institution, travel to a research site.
Value of award
WARC travel grant offers fellowships which are amounted for travel costs up to $1,500 and a stipend of $1,500.
Eligibility criteria for West African Research Association (WARA) Travel Grants 2021
To be eligible to apply for West African Research Association travel grant program, the applicant should e the permanent citizen of one of the African countries and must pursue graduate course from an university that is accredited or affiliated by the African country, the program was designed with a key intention to promote intra-African cooperation and exchange among researchers and institutions by providing support to African scholars and graduate students for research visits to other institutions in Africa.
Target group
Candidates who are the nationals or permanent citizens of one of the African countries with all necessary requirements are eligible to apply for fellowship program.
Application procedure to apply for West African Research Association (WARA) Travel Grants 2021
Documents to be submitted
- Brief statement of purpose with a word limit of 50-80 words
- A description of the applicant’s research and how the proposed travel is relevant to this work
- curriculum vitae with relevant research and teaching record
- letter of acceptance
- a description of the collections to be consulted and their significance to the applicant’s research
- a letter of recommendation by the professor overseeing their research for graduate students
- proof of citizenship
All the applicants should submit completely filled application form along with all the supporting documents which are to be uploaded in word, pdf, or jpeg format within the specified time limit, late & incomplete applications will not be considered.
Application deadline
