Countries Nigerians Can Travel to Without COVID-19 related restrictions

While the world is somewhat surreptitiously recovering from the tremendous impact of the coronavirus pandemic, many countries are wary of dropping their guard on mitigation plans and remedial actions to contain transmission.

One of the more widely implemented preventive measures are travel restrictions ranging from negative PCR test results to mandatory quarantines and even up to outright travel bans. With the new C.1.2 coronavirus strain purpoted to have an increased transmissibility, these are indeed times of perturbing uncertainties when it comes to travel.

There are currently 85 countries whose borders are closed to travellers from Nigeria while 133 countries have open borders but with restrictions. Only 7 countries permit travellers from Nigeria beyond their borders without the need for quarantine or negative Covid results.

For these 7 countries, visitors from Nigeria are not required to present negative COVID-19 PCR test or antigen results or special documentation to this effect. Furthermore, visitors from Nigeria have no mandatory quarantine requirement upon entering these countries.

These 7 countries include:

ALBANIA

Over 28% of the population has been vaccinated with at least one dose. The country has recorded around 145,000 coronavirus cases with nearly 2,500 deaths. Around 21.5% of the population is FULLY vaccinated.

COLUMBIA

Over 45% of the population has been vaccinated with at least one dose. The country has recorded around 4.9 million coronavirus cases with around 125,000 deaths. Around 29% of the population is FULLY vaccinated.

COSTA RICA

Around 60% of the population has been vaccinated with at least one dose. The country has recorded around 456,000 coronavirus cases with over 4,500 deaths. Nearly 20% of the population is FULLY vaccinated.

DOMINICA REPUBLIC

Over 53% of the population has been vaccinated with at least one dose. The country has recorded around 350,000 coronavirus cases with around 4,000 deaths. Around 43.1% of the population is FULLY vaccinated.

ECUADOR

Around 57.5% of the population has been vaccinated with at least one dose. The country has recorded around 501,000 coronavirus cases with over 32,000 deaths. Just over 46% of the population is FULLY vaccinated.

MEXICO

Around 45% of the population has been vaccinated with at least one dose. The country has recorded around 3.34 million coronavirus cases with 258,000 deaths. Around 26.3% of the population is FULLY vaccinated.

ROMANIA

Nearly 27% of the population has been vaccinated with at least one dose. The country has recorded around 1.1 million coronavirus cases with over 34,000 deaths. Around 26.3% of the population is FULLY vaccinated.

Interestingly less than 1% of the Nigerian population is fully vaccinated. Nigeria has recorded around 191,000 cases with nearly 2,500 deaths.
