Nigerian Immigration Service (NIS) introduces VISA ON ARRIVAL

The NIS has launched a visa on arrival facility in a bid to attract foreign investment into the African Giant.

The Controller of Immigration in charge of the Murtala Mohammed International Airport (MMIA), Mr. Abdullahi Dalhatu, made this revelation on the 8th of October, 2021. He noted that the visa on arrival (VOA) policy was designed to enable relative ease of travel, particularly business related trips into Nigeria so as to help promote trading activities.

The VOA facility is set to cover both African and non-African citizens, who are not passport holders of ECOWAS member states.

Visa on Arrival eliminates the need to acquire a visa prior to travel as a facility is available to issue a visa at the port of entry..

Mr. Mohammed stated that travellers who seek to utilise this facility must apply online through the official website of the service. Applications would be processed online and all issuance criteria must be met before a pre- approval was granted to the applicant within a two day window.
