Nigerian Airport Officials Suspended by FAAN for Extortion of Passenger

The Federal Airports Authority of Nigeria (FAAN) has announced the suspension of some officials for alleged extortion. The officials were said to have extorted a passenger at the Murtala Muhammed International Airport in Lagos.

The body stated that the action was consistent with their commitment to rid national airports of corrupt officials. This development was disclosed by Henrietta Yakubu, the General Manager, Corporate Affairs of FAAN.

She stated that the suspended persons were staff of the Aviation Security and Customer Service departments f the authority. She said that the action was intended to serve as warning to other members of the system who seek to damage the image of Nigeria.
