Israel has rolled back on travel restrictions necessitated by the Pandemic. This means that travel between Israel and Western nations including the US, UK and Canada would be permitted would be permitted for both Israeli nationals and foreigners.

The Health Ministry of the Middle East nation announced on the 6th of January, 2022 that it had decided to remove its “red list” of destinations having high covid-19 infection rates. Prof. Nachman Ash, the director-general of the Ministry of Health, announced that travel restrictions on ALL countries have now been lifted.

The director was keen to stress that the local omicron infection, which had contributed significantly to new cases, effectively rendered travel bans futile in mitigating the spread of coronavirus..

The decision is subject to approval by the Israeli Government and applies to all citizens and residents of the country as well as foreign tourists. Foreign tourists have to either be vaccinated or fully recovered from coronavirus to enter Israel.

The countries that were on the list include: UK. Canada, South Africa, UAE, Ethiopia, Turkey, France, Nigeria, Switzerland, Hungary, Tanzania, Mexico, Spain and Portugal.
