1. WINTER CLOTHING IS A MUST
If you plan on migrating to Canada, you must stock up on some winter clothing. And when we say winter clothing, we don’t just mean sweaters but insanely thick winter coats, gloves, and even boots. This is because Canada’s average temperature during winter time can go below zero. Moreover, the country’s temperature can be as low as -30°C or -40°C.
2. CANADA IS A CULTURAL HOT POT

Canada is one of the few countries that warmly welcome immigrants from all over the world. There is not much discrimination in Canada, and people of all races and religions are respected. Moreover, 20% of Canadians were born in a different country.
Because Canada is a cultural hot pot, best believe you will encounter people who speak different languages and have different religions and cultures.
3. LEARN CANADA’S TWO OFFICIAL LANGUAGES
You might wonder why Canadians living in Quebec, New Brunswick, and Yukon speak French while others speak full English. This is because Canada has two official languages: English and French.
There are even laws made to ensure that everyone speaks French in specific areas. Like British and Australian English, Canadian English is unique and can take quite a time to master. The most famous Canadian phrase is “eh.” Moreover, Canadians often say “sorry” when given the opportunity.
4. SMOKE ONLY TO A MINIMUM.
If you are a heavy smoker, Canada might not be the best option unless you agree to keep it to a minimum. In Canada, smoking is prohibited in public spaces such as stores, offices, hospitals, and restaurants, among others. Even apartment buildings and rental complexes prohibit smoking.
Where can you smoke, you may ask? You are only allowed to smoke in your own home or vehicle, basically in non-shared spaces.
Working and moving to another country may be exciting; however, you still need to consider some factors. Being in another country also means adapting to what the people of that country are used to. It will be hard but not impossible if it’s your first time.
