The Canadian Government has elected to relax it’s rules in relation to Permanent Residency eligibility criteria through the Express Entry system. This will represent a major boost for thousands of International students.
The relaxed rules will see International students who were enrolled in Canadian universities but had to complete their programs online as a result of the pandemic, now become eligible for Canadian educational credential points.
Previously, having an online education from a Canadian institution did not count for Comprehensive Ranking System (CRS) points if it accounts for more than 50% of the programme.
Exporess Entry candidates, according to a new Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC) update, are now eligible for Canadian educational credential points for programs completed online between March 2020 and August 2022.
