f I change to H-1B status but resign or am fired from my job, can I go back to my student status and use my remaining OPT time ?

@sphinx Actually you may be eligible if you return to school for a new degree level in an authorized F-1 status. In that case, you could get a new 12 month period of OPT.
However, it is not possible to reclaim an unused OPT from a previous degree.
