Finland is the Happiest Place on Earth

Finland is ranked the world’s happiest country. In other news, water is wet.

The Nordic country has ranked number 1 on the happiness meter for the FIFTH year in a row. The ranking is based on a United Nations sponsored index.

Afghanistan is ranked as the unhapouest country in the world with Lebanon one place off the bottom.

The countries with the biggest improvements in happiness were Romania, Serbia and Bulgaria according to the index.

Lebanon, Afghanistan and Venezuela had the biggest drops on the recently released World Happiness table.

Nigeria is ranked 18th in Africa and tables 118th in the world rankings.

Libya (86 worldwide) is ranked as the happiest African country. Other African countries include:  South Africa (91), Gambia (93) Algeria (96), Liberia (97), Congo (99), Morocco (100), Mozambique (101), and Cameroon (102), Senegal (103), Niger (104), Gabon (106), Guinea (109), Ghana (111), Burkina Faso (113), Benin (115), Comoros (116), and Uganda (117, Nigeria (118) ranked above Kenya (119), Tunisia (120), Mali (123), Namibia (124), Madagascar (128), Egypt (129), and Chad (130).

The USA is ranked 16th while the UK is in 17th place.

Behind Finland are fellow North European countries Denmark, Iceland. Switzerland and Netherlands are in 4th and 5th place.
