Nigerian Trained Doctors Look to Opportunities in Canada

There were over 630 Nigerian trained doctors practicing in Canada as of 2020.
This is based on information provided by the Canadian Medical Association.

The Canadian Medical Association (CMA) is responsible for uniting medical professionals at the national level in Canada to drive quality in strong and accessible healthcare systems as well as enabling welfare and diversity in the medial culture of the North American Country.

The Nigerian Government is inundated with concerns stemming from the brain drain within the healthcare sector.

This comes as over 4,500  Nigerian trained doctors were reported to have migrated to the United Kingdom over a 6 year period.

Canada, UK and even Saudi Arabia have become highly attractive destinations for Nigerian trained medical professionals seeking International opportunities.
