While the Omicron variant is causing disruptions and trepidations, global travel and tourism is clearly on the path to bouncing back.
The prognosis from recent research reveals that travel and tourism is set to generate nearly $9 Trillion dollars in revenue this year across the globe.
This is based on research conducted by the World Travel and Tourism Council. This represents a close propinquity to the pre-pandemic levels. In percentage terms it is just 6.44% lower than the revenue generated prior to the pandemic in 2019.
Countries like Denmark with a high vaccination rate are exhibiting a more relaxed attitude towards travel restrictions, with some detailing plans to roll back on bans and test mandates. Denmark has a vaccination rate of 81% and has recently become the first European Union country to lift ALL COVID-19 restrictions.
Morocco has also announced plans to reopen its borders to tourists. The North African country made this known on February 7, 2022. Over 60 percent of the population of Morocco is FULLY VACCINATED
