New System for International Travel to be unveiled by the US

The United States is looking to create a revised system for International travel consistent with the prevalent circumstances of the pandemic.

This was revealed by Jeff Zients, the White House Coronavirus Response Coordinator. The system is very likely to inculcate modalities for contact tracing.

This system will give the United States authorities access to personal data and COVID-19 related information of travellers. This is a safeguard measure should the travellers be exposed to COVID-19 during the course of their trip.

It is not expected that the Joe Biden administration will ease travel restrictions but contact tracing would be beneficial should the restrictions be reversed in the future.
